Ellicott City firm Blank Kim Injury Law expands workers' comp work
The Ellicott City personal injury firm said it is adding resources for workers' compensation claims and continues to offer free initial consultations.

Blank Kim Injury Law, a personal injury firm based in Ellicott City, said it is putting more attention and staffing behind workers' compensation cases, pointing to the trouble many Maryland workers report when they try to secure benefits after a job injury.
The firm, at 3459 St Johns Ln Suite 6, Ellicott City, MD 21042, said it has represented injury victims across the region and that many workers still find the state's compensation system hard to work through. Problems it cited include delayed approvals of benefits, disputes over whether an injury happened on the job, and confusion about claim requirements for people without legal help.
"Maryland workers frequently tell us they feel unprepared for the administrative and procedural hurdles that follow a workplace injury. Many assume filing a claim is straightforward, but the process can quickly become overwhelming, especially when disputes arise," said Aaron Blank, Blank Kim Injury Law.
Blank said state law lets injured employees file on their own, but doing so without guidance can be difficult. The firm said workers have reported uncertainty over medical documentation, filing and payment timelines, and pressure from employers or insurers to return to work before they have fully recovered. Others are unsure what benefits they qualify for, how long payments last, and how much medical treatment is required.
In response, the firm said it is adding attorney oversight for new claims, increasing direct contact with clients, and offering more help with paperwork and administrative filings.
The firm also said the nature of job injuries is shifting as employers adopt new technology and remote work, with some industries seeing more repetitive-strain and stress-related conditions even as automation cuts physical risk elsewhere. State officials report steady annual volumes of compensation filings in fields from construction and manufacturing to healthcare and service work.
Free initial consultations continue, the firm said, often used to clarify deadlines or how compensation is calculated. The office can be reached at 443-545-3664.
